CCTV-8K

CCTV-8K is the 8K ultra-high-definition channel of China Central Television, launched in January 2022 in the run-up to the Beijing Winter Olympics, which served as a showcase event for the format. It carries documentaries, cultural programming, ceremonies and major sporting events produced in 8K, making it one of the few broadcast services anywhere transmitting at 4320p. Programming is in Chinese and distribution is focused on the domestic market, where 8K television sets and public display screens form much of the audience; the index lists UHD, HD and SD versions. As with CCTV's other showcase channels, schedules and authorised viewing information are published on the broadcaster's official site, tv.cctv.com.
