CCTV-8

CCTV-8 is the television drama channel of China Central Television, launched in January 1996. Its schedule is dominated by Chinese TV series — prime-time first-run dramas, daytime reruns and themed blocks — together with drama-related talk shows and behind-the-scenes features. As the national broadcaster's flagship outlet for scripted series, CCTV-8 premieres many of the major drama productions made for state television, spanning historical epics, contemporary family stories and revolutionary themes. It broadcasts nationwide in Chinese, with HD and SD versions listed in the index. Official schedules and authorised viewing information are published on the channel's page at tv.cctv.com.
