CCTV-17

CCTV-17 is the agriculture and rural-affairs channel of China Central Television. Its programming serves farming communities and viewers interested in rural life: agricultural technology and techniques, rural news, documentaries about the Chinese countryside, and entertainment with a rural focus. Rural-themed programming had been part of CCTV's schedule for decades, and CCTV-17 consolidated that remit into a standalone channel, taking over the agriculture output that had previously sat within CCTV-7's mixed schedule. The channel broadcasts nationwide in Chinese, with HD and SD versions listed in the index. Official schedules and authorised viewing information are published on the channel's page at tv.cctv.com.
