Animal Planet

Animal Planet is the wildlife and animal entertainment channel of Warner Bros. Discovery, launched in June 1996 as the Discovery family's zoological specialist. Its schedule spans the animal kingdom: wildlife documentaries from the world's great habitats, veterinary and rescue series such as The Vet Life and Pit Bulls & Parolees, aquarium-building spectaculars in Tanked, and the beloved Irwin family franchise carrying forward Steve Irwin's legacy. The channel balances entertainment with conservation messaging throughout. Animal Planet's official website, animalplanet.com, publishes schedules and authorised viewing information. Its Puppy Bowl, aired annually around the Super Bowl, has become one of cable television's most charming counter-programming traditions.
